A Heartfelt Wedding & A Tangerine Tree

China & Isaac have a love story that unfolded and grew just like that tangerine tree pictured behind them. Throughout their wedding day, there were family sayings, traditions and tales shared with us that helped Eddy & I to see how this couple came to be. They met years prior to their wedding day on Oahu and spent a lot of time with family & friends on their journey to falling in love. Isaac’s grandparents live in Manoa and while cleaning up around the tangerine tree one hot afternoon, Isaac decided it was the perfect time to propose to China. He didn’t have it all perfectly planned out but when he asked China to accept his proposal, she agreed and they celebrated with friends & family in their gardening clothes. When it was time to plan their wedding, they thought that there was no better place to exchange their vows than right next to the tangerine tree in Manoa against the gorgeous mountain backdrops.

From all of the fun we had as China & Isaac got ready at the iconic Ilikai Hotel in Waikik to the entertaining games at their reception, this wedding had so much heart & soul behind it. China & Isaac’s Ohana took care of so many details from the flowers, to setting up the backyard for the ceremony, to decorating the hall and keeping the guests entertained during the reception. I love this about Hawaii because weddings become a family affair and having everyone’s love poured into a special day makes it the most memorable experience for all.
